2016 Millage Advertisement and Information

Wednesday June 24, 2015 - Notice is hereby given pursuant to Article 7, Section 23(C) of the Constitution and R.S. 47:1705(B) that a public hearing of the Council of the City of New Orleans in Orleans Parish will be held at its regular meeting place, City Council Chamber, located at 1300 Perdido Street, City Hall, Room 1E07, New Orleans, La., on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year's maximum. The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in the next tax year from increased millage is $314,902,830, and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $13,889,057.

In order to comply with state law, this notice is being posted on the Council's website, and will run twice in the City's official journal, The Times-Picayune. Run dates are June 24, 2015 and July 1, 2015. This notice will remain on the Council's website at least until the Council takes action to approve or disapprove, or has abandoned action on, the proposed millage increase.
