Jon D. Johnson: Councilmember District E

Jon D. Johnson was elected District "E" Councilmember in March 2010. Johnson is the first African American in the history of New Orleans to serve as a State Representative and State Senator, and the only African American in the history of Louisiana to serve as chairman of the Senate Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Committee. Johnson's legislative leadership has earned him regional and national acknowledgement. He was recognized as Legislator of the Year by the Alliance for Good Government and received the Southern Christian Leadership Conference's Martin Luther King Legislative Award.
