James Carter: Councilmember District C (2006-2010)

James Carter formerly served as District "C" Councilmember from 2006 to 2010. Carter served as the first director to the Weed and Seed Program and is affiliated with Tambourine and Fan, Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and the Prince Hall Masons. He is the former president of the New Orleans chapter of the Howard University Alumni Association and additionally serves as a Deacon at Second Good Hope Baptist Church of Algiers.

Councilmember Carter served as Chair of the Cable and Telecommunications, Competitive Selection and Criminal Justice Committees, and as a Member of the Airport, Ground Transportation and Parking, Housing and Human Needs, Special Arts and Culture, Special Disaster and Recovery, Utility and Youth and Recreation Committees.
